    Description

    Pictured is an early blue & white spongeware cuspidor offered for sale.  The cuspidor has a novel
    plump, pudgy shape & form distinctively different from most seen.  It's accented with three (3) blue
    slip bands around the midsection. It measures 5 1/4" in height, 7" in rim diameter, & dates from 1885 -
    1920.  It's in excellent condition with no nicks, damage or repairs.  The underside has been marked
    "RETURN TO HOMER PURNIS" by a previous owner.  I elected to keep the markings on the cuspidor,
    offering character to the item, however, it can be removed if desired.
