    Description

    Selling is a Vintage Original 7 9/16" X 9 9/16" HAND-PAINTED Color DOUBLE WEIGHT glossy photo with borders of DIONE (aka DIANE) ELLIS from the 1929 Promotional Portrait for "LEATHERNECK" & "HIGH VOLTAGE".  This photo was taken less then a year before Dione Ellis's Untimely Death at the age of 20 in 1930, 5 days before her 21st birthday.  She was on her honeymoon overseas at the time of her death. There is a typed snipe attached to the back of this photo describing the hat being worn in the photo.  As stated on the back, she is wearing a "black satin 'Marie Christiane' Spanish Comb, hat. Fold on side simulating Spanish Comb.  Correct for wear with new satin and velvet afternoon hostess gowns."  There is a stamp for DIONE ELLIS in blue ink on the back of the photo.

    Photos of this star are quite RARE to find as she died at an early age after making 10 films.
