The battery cover is in good shape and there is no corrosion in the battery compartment. Only known issue with this is the tape deck does not work. It doesn't turn the tape. There is a smaller roller in it that moves just enough tape to hear sound for a second so the heads work in it. Selling As Is.

    Description

This is a rare Casio Boombox Radio.  Casio called it a Computerized Radio Cassette Keyboard.  It is from the mid 80s.  I tried to test as much as I could. As best as I could figure out the digital synthesisor / keyboard functions work.  I got it to record what I played and play back and do some other things along with it, enough that I am pretty confident saying it works.  The radio works.  I thought it did awesome with powerful stations but weak stations was not quite as great.  The sound from this thing is incredible for what it is.  I was very impressed with that.  Speakers sound nice and clean.  It doesn't have super heavy base but does have clean crisp sound.  After testing I was searching for some information for the listing and found a manual for this.  It is 131 pages.  I did decide to print this and put it with it so it is easier for the next person to learn how to operate it.
    Issues and Condition Known:
Biggest issue is the tape deck.  It doesn't play tapes.  The main drive doesn't turn.  There is a smaller roller that pulls just enough tape to hear sound so it showed me the heads pick up and play sound.  This could be just a belt (most likely issue on an old tape player).  I also noticed a small plastic pin that supports the tape in the deck was broken.  I heard the piece rattling and before I powered it up I found that and got it out to make sure it wasn't metal (didn't want it to short anything).  I taped it to the top of the unit.  I'm pretty sure the drive can work without this so while it is an issue, it is not what I believe is keeping it from working.
The back side has some scratches.  These show in the images but not as well as I hoped but I want to be clear that the condition isn't perfect.  Sides, front, and top other than minor scuffs look great.
The spring clips that hold the speakers in place seem a little weak.  The speakers usually can slide off without pushing the release button.  No issue at all on a shelf, but carrying it around be cautious of the speakers sliding off.
This isn't so much of an issue but awareness - the power cord included I am pretty sure is not original.
Overall this is an exciting neat vintage radio.  It is a unique display of engineering and creativity that will be great for someone's collection.  I am selling this as is and did my best to state conditions I was able to identify.  Thanks for looking!
